Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

So I am running in my first 5k, and my first fundraiser run, on October 6th. It benefits the American Cancer Society and they set up a nice nifty little "Participant Center" through which we can email potential sponsors, track their page visits and donations, follow up with them, thank them, and keep them updated. It's really rather handy. It includes a personal (very simple) webpage through which your sponsors can donate (or download a mail-in form), and you can talk about why you are doing the event, keep them updated on your progress, etc.

10 mile - Dowtown to Granger

From downtown South Bend to my house in Granger, then around the neighborhood and Prairie Vista for the 2 more miles I needed to get 10. Very satisfying run!

This is the longest run I am scheduled for until the 1/2 marathon. All my runs from here on out are fairly short, but I'm going to cheat on that a little and run in the Fall Frolic next Saturday, which benefits the South Bend Center for the Homeless' preschool Montessori program -- fabulous cause.
